SCAN Managers Michelle Murphy Zive - Michelle is the Director of the SCAN project. After receiving her Master's in Nutrition and Food Sciences and becoming a Registered Dietitian, she recruited for the SCAN project when the kids were in preschool. She also works on other community projects in Community Pediatrics. She enjoys writing, reading, surfing and spending time with her two beautiful girls, Molly (11 years) and Kelly (8 years). Todd Galati - Todd has managed and trained the SCAN staff since 1995. He has a Masters degree in Kinesiology, and has managed a variety of health research and health education projects with UCSD Community Pediatrics during the past 9 years. Todd is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys racing and riding mountain and road bikes, running, hiking, skiing, kayaking, climbing, and walking his dog Heisman (a boxer). Todd lives in Carlsbad with his wife Ann (who is every bit as active as he is if not more!), Heisman, and two cats (Sydney and Melbourne). Karen Haye - Karen has been the SCAN data manager since it began. She loves animals, good books, baking, and exercise. She lives in University City with her husband and 3 very pampered cats. David Martin - David is the measurement and data coordinator of the SCAN project. He grew up in Spain and moved to the United States in 1982. David enjoys playing the drums, soccer, tennis (sports in general), eating, hiking, traveling, reading, photography, and web development.
