SCAN Field Staff Carisa Martinez - Carisa is originally from Atwater, CA and has recently graduated from UCSD with a major in Biology. She loves playing sports and being outdoors. She's also an active member and founding sister of the first Latina based sorority at UCSD (Phi Lambda Rho), which promotes Latino culture, academics, sisterhood, and community service. Conchita Hernandez - Conchita will soon graduate from UCSD with a double major in Biology and Latin American Studies. She loves her ½ pitt-bull, ½ labrador, Sage. She's an active member and founding sister of the first Latina based sorority at UCSD (Phi Lambda Rho), which promotes Latino culture, academics, sisterhood, and community service. Barbara Reyes - Barbara was born in the Philippines. She's a navy brat and has moved around frequently. She enjoys cultural arts from Australian aborigine, Hawaiian, and Native American background. She also loves to cook. Kara Mareci - Kara is originally from California but has lived in both Arizona and Pennsylvania. She graduated from West Chester University in PA with a degree in Public Health. She recently moved to San Diego with her college roommate. She loves the beach, all outdoor activities, aerobics, and spinning. Alba Medina - Alba is currently finishing her fith year at UCSD with a literature major. She loves the outdoors and reading.
