ABOUT US
The vision of the Center for Community Health is
to integrate the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) mission
of research, education, and service with the interests and needs
of communities, identifying and investigating health problems, conducting
research to enhance prevention of disease, providing resources and
assistance to communities, developing new models, and creating effective
partnerships.
Value of the Center
The Center for Community Health fulfills an important commitment
by the University to take an active interest in improving the quality
of life in neighboring communities. It is located in UCSD, School
of Medicine, Division of Community Pediatrics. The goal is to foster
communication and establish ongoing dialogue between the university
and local communities on how to best move forward together in solving
problems. The Center has an array of technical resources that it
can offer to communities and health professionals to further research,
identify funding opportunities, policy development, establish new
program initiatives and sustain successful collaborations.
